Products are, of course, made in the factory; but let’s be honest, a brand is created in the mind. Unfortunately, not everyone is able to come up with a brilliant idea, since this is not something you can do with your eyes shut. Since Amazon is one of the platforms that cares about your brand, mentioning Jeff Bezos’ thought would be the best idea for this blog: “Your brand is what people say about you after you leave the room. A brand for a company is like a reputation for a person. You earn reputation by trying to do hard things well.”

We care about brands selling their product on Amazon. Since we respect the ones who devise a brainchild and can sell it on Amazon, we will make sure you know how to protect your brand on this plaform.

Many brands do nothing to protect themselves from rogue sellers, but honestly, now is not the time to twiddle your thumbs. If you’re not willing to do the work, results will disappoint you.

This is when you have to be proactive and efficient enough.

In case you don’t know, Amazon has a special Amazon Brand Registry Program, which allows brands to have a greater control over their product listings on Amazon. With its help, brands benefit a lot since they are able to easily find content on Amazon and report suspected violations. This program will turn the tables for the enrolled brands, since their keywords will have a stronger voice than those of other sellers.

Rogue sellers are everywhere, and every brand should take the initiative to find them. Some of them remove the products from their listings after receiving a warning letter. So this is it, the first step towards the elimination of infringers is a message. In the letter, you should clearly define your main demand, to remove the specific listings. Rogue sellers should realize that they are infringing on your Intellectual Property rights. By sending them a letter first, you’re doing them a favor, since this way they won’t be suspended by Amazon. You give them a chance to remove the listing and improve the situation.

Unfortunately, not everyone responds in a way that is expected. At this point, brands should go till the end. Amazon hates infringers and so do brands. Finding common ground, these two can eliminate rogue sellers for the sake of their reputation and success. Amazon is famous for suspending sellers, why not use it against infringers?
To contact Amazon, brands are required to write a letter in which they must include the following:

  • Describe their situation. Amazon likes it when you spare no expense in your actions. Use it in your letter, show that you have done your best to dispose of sellers infringing on your rights.
  • Be concise and explain that the person you suspected is selling counterfeits which is not beneficial for both of you. Amazon is a customer-centric company and its customers will be dissatisfied to receive a counterfeit. Play your cards right, since your letter will trigger a red flag for Amazon.

If you want to be original, be ready to be copied. This is why it is better to be prepared for the worst. Infringers are ready to counterfeit your name, your brand, and your quality. Don’t let them get away with it by harming your business.
