What we work

Every Stage Where a Walmart Order Can Go Wrong

Item policy, cancellations, on-time delivery, valid tracking, customer contact and returns. Each one maps to a standard Walmart measures, and each one is on the plan.

How Walmart reads it

How Walmart Measures Your Seller Performance

Walmart holds seller-fulfilled orders to its Seller Performance Standards over a rolling window shown in Seller Center: on-time delivery at 90 percent or better, valid tracking at 99 percent, cancellations at 2 percent or less and a reply to at least 95 percent of customer messages within 48 hours. Only seller-accountable issues count.

Cross a line and you’ll usually see a warning in Seller Center first. Stay there and Walmart can unpublish your seller-fulfilled items, then suspend the account. Since April 2026 it also enforces return rate, item not received rate and negative feedback rate.

What are Walmart’s Seller Performance Standards?

Walmart’s Seller Performance Standards are the metrics every Marketplace seller must meet: cancellation rate, on-time delivery rate, valid tracking rate, seller response rate, return rate, item not received rate and negative feedback rate. Each has its own target and measurement window, shown in Seller Center. Missing them can lead to suppression, suspension or termination.

What on-time delivery rate does Walmart require?

Walmart requires an on-time delivery rate of 90 percent or above, measured over 30 and 60 day windows against the Expected Delivery Date shown to the customer. Late deliveries caused by slow handling, the wrong carrier service or shipping templates that promise too much are the usual reasons sellers fall under the line.

What is Walmart’s valid tracking rate requirement?

Walmart requires a valid tracking rate of 99 percent or above. Tracking has to be accurate and legitimate, and it should only be shared after the carrier picks up the package. Uploading tracking before pickup or using a carrier Walmart cannot read are common ways sellers lose valid tracking on orders that did ship.

What cancellation rate is too high on Walmart?

Walmart expects a seller cancellation rate of 2 percent or below over a 30 day window. It counts orders the seller cancels after receiving them from Walmart, usually because of stock that was not really available. Keeping inventory feeds accurate and in sync across channels is the main way to stay under the line.

What return rate does Walmart allow?

Walmart expects a return rate of 6 percent or below, or 9 percent or below for resold inventory, measured over 60 days. A high return rate on one item usually points to a listing problem, such as wrong sizing, photos or specs. Fixing the listing is often faster than fighting each return.

How fast do I have to answer customers on Walmart?

Walmart asks sellers to respond to customer inquiries within 48 hours and to keep a seller response rate of 95 percent or above. Messages left unanswered over weekends and holidays are the usual cause of a slipping rate. Set coverage for weekends and holidays too.

What happens if my Walmart metrics drop below the standards?

If your Walmart metrics drop below the Seller Performance Standards, Walmart sends performance notifications and can take action that includes suppression, suspension or termination of the account. Items can also be unpublished for listing or policy problems. Catching a slipping metric early is far cheaper than appealing a suspension later.

Can I dispute a Walmart defect that was not my fault?

Walmart sellers can dispute policy violations and some defects through Seller Center when the facts do not support them, such as a late delivery the carrier caused or a policy flag your documents answer. A dispute needs records that show what really happened. When the problem was real, fixing the cause works better than arguing it.

What is Walmart account health maintenance?

Walmart account health maintenance is a monthly program that checks your account against the Seller Performance Standards, fixes what is pushing a metric toward its line and disputes violations and defects that were not yours. It is run by our parent company, Basilio Inc. If Walmart ever suspends the account, our case team takes the appeal with your history on file.

Is Walmart account health maintenance worth it?

Walmart account health maintenance is worth it when Walmart is a meaningful share of your revenue and any metric sits close to its line. A monthly check catches a slipping rate before Walmart sends a warning, which costs far less than a suspension. Start with a free assessment of your Walmart account health.

How much does Walmart account health maintenance cost?

Walmart account health maintenance is offered in Bronze, Silver, Gold and Titanium plans. Higher plans mean deeper monitoring, more disputes each month and faster escalation of stuck items. We recommend a plan after a free assessment of your account, based on how many open violations and at risk metrics it has.

Can anyone guarantee my Walmart account will stay healthy?

No. Walmart decides every dispute and every enforcement action on its own. Be careful with anyone who promises otherwise. What we commit to is the work: monthly checks against the standards, disputes backed by real records, fixes at the source and a straight answer when a defect is fair, before you pay.
