The Shopify Payments Reserve Dispute Service That Gets Withheld Funds Released.
If Shopify Payments paused your payouts or put a reserve on your store, the risk team is looking at your store, fulfillment, chargebacks and business model together. We find what set it off, answer the request in your Shopify admin with documents that match and ask for a reserve based on your real risk. Start with a free assessment and know where you stand before you pay.
Payout pauses usually lift when the request is answered in full.

Get Your Shopify Payouts Moving and Your Funds Released
A reserve keeps part of your money, a payout pause stops it and a deactivation can turn off card payments on your store. We work all of it at once.
What changesPayouts restart once the information request is answered in full, with order and delivery data behind every item.
UnfulfilledUnfulfilledIn transitChargebackDeliveredDeliveredDeliveredDeliveredWonDeliveredWhat changesAs tracked orders deliver, the exposure behind the reserve falls, and we ask for the reserve to be reduced on that evidence.
What changesProcessing comes back where it can, and where it cannot, the withheld funds are released on its own schedule with the exposure documented.
Who at Shopify Payments Decides Your Payout Pause or Reserve
The request in your admin has several sections, and a different team reads each one. Our people have sat on the other side of these reviews. Open a section to see what that team needs.

What Your Shopify Payments Notice Means
The admin tells you what Shopify Payments did to your payouts. It rarely tells you why. Pick the notice that matches yours and see what sets it off, what Shopify can prove and what it’s only assuming.

Is Your Shopify Payments Reserve Bigger Than Your Real Risk?
A request to lower a reserve works when it shows the real number. Model yours here before we build the request around it.
Illustrative model: unshipped pre-order value plus refunds and chargebacks on three months of sales. Shopify sets reserves on its own review, so this frames the request, it does not predict the answer.
Set your sales, pre-orders, and dispute rates. The gap between what is held and what you can document is the basis of a reserve reduction request.
How Shopify Payments Decides Whether to Release Your Funds
Shopify Payments doesn’t read your response on its own. It reads it against your whole store: your volume, your pre-orders, your fulfillment times, your chargebacks and every response you’ve sent before. We write yours to answer what the risk team is actually weighing.
Potentially how it looks. A fictitious reconstruction built from our research and quantified only from cases we have handled. It is not a Shopify Payments screen or tool. Names, IDs, and records are invented or redacted.

Shopify Payments case, draft
We are the ones merchants come to when every other agency and law firm has already failed.
Most merchants find us after Shopify Payments said no and another agency already tried. Every response stays on your store’s record, so the next one has to be built differently. Our team has worked inside these risk reviews and knows what each one is measuring. That’s how we’ve resolved more than 10,000 cases.

- How we work it
Moderate
A missing document or a growth spike on a clean store. We complete the request and match orders to tracking.
Difficult
Risk the review team wants covered. A full admin response and your real numbers with a proposed release schedule.
Hell 1
Rising disputes or an earlier answer that fell short. Responses by reason code and a rebuilt document set.
Hell 2
A high reserve with chargeback ratios close to card network limits. We fix the source, bring the ratio down, then ask for a smaller reserve.
Hell 3
Acceptable Use questions about what you sell or what your store claims. Product and license records, a store cleanup, then review.
Hell 4
Card payments turned off with money still inside. The trigger mapped, an appeal with documents and the balance worked on its own track.
Hell 5
Money withheld long after sales stopped. A release request once the risk ends and an attorney-reviewed letter if it stays withheld.
Hell 6
No real path to a human reviewer left. We decline before you pay.
Hell 7
No real option left. We decline before you pay.

Shopify Payments Payout and Reserve FAQs
Don’t see your question? Send us your notice and we’ll answer it directly.
Why are my Shopify Payments payouts on hold?
Shopify Payments puts payouts on hold when it needs information from you, your bank details are wrong, a product is not eligible, your business type is not supported, or there is a sanctions or creditor issue. You cannot receive payouts until the reason is resolved. Check your email, including spam, and reply directly with what Shopify asked for.
How do I get a Shopify Payments hold removed?
You get a Shopify Payments hold removed by giving Shopify exactly the information it requested and replying directly to its email. Only the store owner can see the full details. Send complete, matching documents once. For a creditor hold, Shopify says you need to contact the creditor directly, since only the processor can lift it with their authorization.
Why does Shopify Payments have a reserve on my account?
Shopify Payments sets a reserve to protect against losses from disputes and refunds. Common triggers are long billing cycles, high chargebacks, rising refunds, long delivery times and big jumps in volume. A reserve is either a fixed amount, like $1,000 for 120 days, or a percentage of sales, like 10 percent for 120 days.
How long does a Shopify Payments reserve last?
A Shopify Payments reserve lasts for the period set in its terms, and Shopify reviews your account before the reserve expires to decide whether to keep, reduce or raise it. If it is not extended, the reserved money is released into your regular payouts over several business days. Track it in Finance, then Payouts, in your admin.
Can I appeal a Shopify Payments reserve?
You can appeal a Shopify Payments reserve when the reserve email says it is appealable, by replying to that email within the timeframe it gives. Some reserves are requirement based instead and are removed automatically once you meet the condition. Back an appeal with your real chargeback rate, refund rate and delivery times.
How long do I have to respond to a Shopify chargeback?
Shopify says the deadline to respond to a chargeback is typically 7 to 21 days after it is filed. Submit evidence through the Chargeback response form on the order in your Shopify admin. The bank can take up to 75 days to decide, and that decision is final, so send all your evidence the first time.
What is the Shopify Payments chargeback fee?
The Shopify Payments chargeback fee is $15 in the US and Canada, with other amounts in other countries, such as 15 euros in EU countries. The bank takes the disputed amount and the fee right away. If you win the chargeback, both are returned. An inquiry takes no money during the investigation, though it can turn into a chargeback.
What evidence wins a Shopify Payments chargeback?
Shopify Payments chargebacks are won with evidence that fits the dispute reason, such as delivery proof for product not received claims and billing records for subscription disputes. Use clear, high contrast documents, since banks may receive them by fax. If an inquiry can be settled with a refund, issue it before it becomes a formal chargeback.
What happens to my money if Shopify Payments closes my account?
When a Shopify Payments account is closed, Shopify’s terms say funds held by the provider are paid out subject to the Payment Processor Terms, and the processor can keep holding funds it deems necessary while obligations are resolved. Chargebacks you lose can still be recovered from you. Keep answering every dispute so held money is freed.
Can someone help me get my Shopify Payments funds released?
Yes, a specialist can help you answer Shopify Payments with the right documents and a reserve appeal backed by your own order, refund and chargeback data. We find what set off the hold or reserve, build the response and track your reserved funds until they release. Start with a free assessment and know where you stand before you pay.
What does a Shopify Payments reserve dispute service cost?
A Shopify Payments reserve dispute service is priced by how hard the case is. A payout hold waiting on one document takes less work than a closed account with a 120 day reserve. We start with a free assessment of your notices and payouts page, then quote the work plainly before you commit.
Can anyone guarantee Shopify Payments will release my funds?
No one can guarantee Shopify Payments will release your funds or lift a reserve, because Shopify and its payment processor make the final decision. Be careful with anyone who promises it. What we commit to is the work: a full review of your case, a documented response and a straight answer on your chances before you pay.
