What Your TikTok Ban Notice Means

Account Status tells you what TikTok flagged. It rarely tells you why. Pick the notice that matches yours and see what sets it off, what TikTok can prove and what it’s only assuming.

Community Guidelines strike

Community Guidelines strike

Reviewed by Trust and Safety moderators

Typical grade: Moderate

What sets it off

  • A video removed for a Community Guidelines violation
  • A caption, sound, or on screen text that matches a policy

What they can prove

  • The video removed and the policy cited
  • The date the strike expires

What they infer

  • That the content was meant to break the rule

Our pathway

  1. 1Read the policy cited on each strike
  2. 2Appeal only the strikes the video does not support
  3. 3Edit or remove content that does break the rule
  4. 4Track expiry dates while appeals run
Not every strike is worth appealing. We pick the ones that are wrong and let the rest expire.
LIVE, comment, or messaging restriction

Feature restriction

Reviewed by automated moderation

Typical grade: Moderate

What sets it off

  • Strikes on LIVE or comments
  • Keyword flags in comments or messages

What they can prove

  • The feature restricted and for how long
  • The flagged content

What they infer

  • That the account will misuse the feature again

Our pathway

  1. 1Confirm the restriction and its end date
  2. 2Appeal the flag where the content was fine
  3. 3Clean up comment filters and moderators
  4. 4Rebuild use of the feature slowly after it lifts
Feature bans usually run out. The work is making sure the next one does not start.

Typical grade: Difficult

What sets it off

  • Health or results claims for supplements
  • Promotion of goods TikTok restricts

What they can prove

  • The captions and claims in each video
  • Repeat findings on similar posts

What they infer

  • That the account exists to promote restricted goods

Our pathway

  1. 1List every video with a claim
  2. 2Remove or rewrite claims that break the rule
  3. 3Appeal the posts that made no claim
  4. 4Show the posting checks now in place
Supplement accounts get banned for captions more than for products. We fix the captions first.

Typical grade: Hell 1 to 2

What sets it off

  • Strikes reaching the ban level
  • One severe violation

What they can prove

  • Every active strike on the account
  • Appeals already decided

What they infer

  • That the account will keep breaking the rules

Our pathway

  1. 1Map every strike, its policy, and its expiry
  2. 2Win the strikes that are wrong
  3. 3Appeal the ban with the reduced count
  4. 4Show the content controls now in place
A ban built on strikes can be taken apart one strike at a time.
Suspected under minimum age

Age flag

Reviewed by the age and identity team

Typical grade: Moderate

What sets it off

  • A report or signal that the user is under the minimum age
  • A birthdate or content that suggests it

What they can prove

  • The report and what the account shows
  • The account history on file

What they infer

  • That the account holder is too young

Our pathway

  1. 1Confirm the account holder's age
  2. 2Use TikTok's own age appeal route
  3. 3Submit the verification it asks for
  4. 4Remove content that caused confusion
Age flags are answered with TikTok's own verification, nothing else.

  • A new account opened after a ban

What they can prove

  • The shared device or number
  • The banned account's status

What they infer

  • That the new account exists to get around a ban

Our pathway

  1. 1Map every device, number, and network
  2. 2Explain real sharing, such as a family device
  3. 3Remove shared access
  4. 4Appeal with the map attached
Evasion is read from devices. We answer with a device map.

  • Automation or engagement groups

What they can prove

  • The engagement pattern and timing
  • The account history on file

What they infer

  • That the account's reach is not real

Our pathway

  1. 1Disclose every tool or service used
  2. 2Show each one ended
  3. 3Remove automation and third party access
  4. 4Appeal with the disclosure
Partial answers get rejected. A full disclosure is the only version that works.

What they infer

  • That users could be misled

Our pathway

Our working view. This is general guidance, and it isn’t legal advice. TikTok limits business accounts to the Commercial Music Library, which it clears for commercial use. Popular songs are licensed for personal, non commercial use.

How TikTok Decides Whether to Restore Your Account

TikTok doesn’t read your appeal on its own. It reads it against your whole account: your active strikes, your removed videos, your linked devices and every appeal you’ve sent before. We write yours to answer what TikTok is actually weighing.

Why the hard cases come here

We are the ones account owners come to when every other agency and law firm has already failed.

Most creators find us after their appeals were denied and another agency already tried. A denied appeal stays on the account, so the next one has to be built differently. Our team has worked inside these platforms and knows what each review is measuring. That’s how we’ve resolved more than 10,000 cases.

How we work it

Moderate

One strike or flag on an account with room to spare. We appeal on the context automated moderation missed.

Difficult

A ban built from several strikes, some of them weak. We check each one and appeal in the order that lowers the total.

Hell 1

Your age or who owns the account is in question. It takes matching ID, brand or trademark records.

Hell 2

Rejected appeals are already on the account, and the next one gets read against them. We rebuild around what the moderator missed.

Hell 3

TikTok doubts how the account grew. You stop any growth service, say so plainly and show normal activity.

Hell 4

The account is tied to a banned one and treated as the same person. We document the separation and keep your original account the only way back.

Hell 5

A severe violation or a long strike history. We show the video or account was misread, with full context.

Hell 6

No human path left. We tell you before you pay.

Hell 7

No real option left. We tell you before you pay.

    TikTok account questions

    TikTok Ban and Suspension FAQs

Don’t see your question? Send us your notice and we’ll answer it directly.

Why was my TikTok account banned?

TikTok bans an account when violations of its Community Guidelines or Terms of Service add up, or after a single severe violation. Copyright and trademark strikes can also lead to a ban, and TikTok bans accounts it believes belong to someone under 13. Open Account status in the app to see the violations on your record.

How do I appeal a banned TikTok account?

You appeal a banned TikTok account by logging in, opening the notification that your account was banned, tapping Appeal and following the steps. Keep it short and specific to the violation TikTok cited. While banned, you can also download your personal data, which is worth doing before anything else.

How long does a TikTok appeal take?

TikTok does not publish one fixed time for ban appeals. Video appeals often come back within days, while account bans and age or identity checks can take weeks. Do not delete content that is under appeal, since TikTok says it may then be unable to clear the violation from your record if the appeal is approved.

    Do TikTok strikes expire?

TikTok violations expire after 90 days and are no longer counted against your account. Copyright and trademark strikes also expire from your record after 90 days, and TikTok may remove them sooner if the report is retracted or your appeal succeeds. Check Account status to see what is still active.

Can a permanently banned TikTok account be recovered?

A permanently banned TikTok account can sometimes be recovered through an appeal if TikTok agrees the ban was a mistake. Act fast, because TikTok deletes personal data from banned accounts after a set period. Log in, download your data, then file one clear appeal that answers the exact violation on your record.

What if TikTok banned me for being under 13 by mistake?

If TikTok banned your account because it believes you are under 13, you can appeal from the notification in the app. TikTok may ask for your ID and a selfie to confirm the ID is yours, and it sends the result by email. If you do not appeal or the appeal fails, TikTok deletes the account after a set number of days.

Should I make a new TikTok account after a ban?

Making a new TikTok account after a ban can get the new account banned too. TikTok lists creating a new account after a ban among the actions that can lead to restriction or a permanent ban. It also leaves your followers and videos behind. Appeal the original account first.

Why is my TikTok account not being recommended?

TikTok marks an account ineligible for recommendation when its content goes against the For You feed standards, which limits reach without a full ban. To appeal, tap Profile, tap the Ineligible for recommendation notice and follow the steps. Fix or remove the posts behind it so the limit does not return.

How do I avoid getting banned on TikTok again?

You avoid another TikTok ban by checking Account status often, appealing wrong violations right away, and not posting anything close to the rule that hit you before. Use only music and clips you have rights to, keep one account per person, and wait for old violations to expire after 90 days.

Is it worth hiring a TikTok appeal service?

Hiring a TikTok appeal service is worth it when the account drives sales or income, the ban reason is unclear, or an appeal already failed. A good service goes through Account status, every strike and removed video, finds what tipped the account over and writes one focused appeal. We start with a free assessment of your account.

What does a TikTok appeal service cost?

The cost of a TikTok appeal service depends on how hard the case is. A single wrong video removal is simpler than a permanent ban with copyright strikes. We start with a free assessment, tell you plainly where you stand, and quote only after that.

    Can anyone guarantee TikTok reinstatement?

No. Nobody can guarantee TikTok reinstatement because TikTok makes the final decision on every appeal. What we commit to is the work: reading your full record, finding what tipped the account over and building the strongest appeal the facts support. You get a straight answer on your chances before you pay.
