The Dwolla Account Dispute Service That Gets Withheld Funds Released.

Dwolla moves money over ACH, so there’s no card reserve in the usual sense. Risk shows up as suspended customers, removed funding sources, paused balance access and reviews of your return rates. We rebuild the return record from your transfers, find what drove it and bring Dwolla the fix and the numbers. Start with a free assessment and know where you stand before you pay.

What we recover on Dwolla

Get Your Dwolla Balance Back and Your Customers Reactivated

An ACH platform handles risk differently from a card processor. A paused balance, a suspended customer and a platform review each need their own answer. We work all of it at once.

Why the hard cases come here

We are the ones merchants come to when every other agency and law firm has already failed.

Most platforms find us after their requests went nowhere and another agency already tried. Everything you send stays on the record, so the next request has to be built differently. Our team has worked inside these platforms and knows what each review is measuring. That’s how we’ve resolved more than 10,000 cases.

Dwolla questions

Dwolla Suspension and Balance Hold FAQs

Don’t see your question? Send us your notice and we’ll answer it directly.

Why did Dwolla suspend my customer?

Dwolla suspends a customer when a transfer comes back with an R10 return, which means the account holder told their bank the debit was not authorized. Dwolla sends a Customer Suspended webhook when it happens. Pull the authorization record for that payment, including the consent text, timestamp and IP, before you ask Dwolla to restore the customer.

What is the difference between a suspended and deactivated Dwolla customer?

A suspended Dwolla customer comes from an R10 unauthorized return, while a deactivated customer comes from returns like R05, R07, R16, R29 or R51. Many of those same codes also remove or unverify the customer’s funding source. Deactivation usually points to a bigger problem, so it takes stronger proof to reverse.

How do I reactivate a deactivated Dwolla customer?

Dwolla’s API lets you update a deactivated or suspended customer to a reactivated status, but you should fix the cause first. Confirm which return code set it off, correct the bank details or the authorization problem and keep proof of the fix. Reactivating without a fix tends to bring the same return back.

How long can Dwolla hold my balance?

Dwolla’s account Terms of Service let it suspend your access to funds in a Dwolla Balance for up to 90 days. It can do that if it decides you breached the terms, pose a risk to the platform or cannot be verified. Answer every request for information quickly and in full, because the review cannot close without it.

What ACH return rates get a Dwolla account reviewed?

Nacha sets return rate levels of 0.5 percent for unauthorized debits, 3 percent for administrative returns like R02, R03 and R04, and 15 percent for all debit returns. Going past them can set off an inquiry into your origination practices, and Dwolla and its partner banks watch the same numbers. Track your rates every month.

Why did Dwolla remove my customer’s bank account?

Dwolla removes or unverifies a customer’s funding source after certain ACH returns, including R02 closed account, R03 no account found and R16 frozen account. The customer has to add and verify a valid bank account again before new transfers can run. Check the transfer failure reason first so you fix the right thing.

How long do Dwolla ACH transfers take?

Dwolla standard ACH debits take 3 to 4 business days and credits take 1 to 2 business days, with a 4 p.m. CT cutoff. Same Day ACH settles in 0 to 1 business days across three daily windows. A transfer that runs longer than that is often failed, returned or held for review, so check its status and failure reason.

Does Dwolla put a reserve on my account?

Dwolla usually manages risk differently from a card processor. Risk tends to show up as paused balance access, suspended or deactivated customers and removed funding sources. Its Terms of Service also make you responsible for reversed or failed transactions, fees and claims, so return costs land on you.

Should I open a new Dwolla account if mine is restricted?

Opening a new Dwolla account to get around a restriction usually makes the problem worse, because Dwolla and its partner banks verify the business and its owners. The better path is to answer the review, bring your return rates down and show the fixes to your consent flow. We do not help anyone evade a closure.

Can someone help me get Dwolla access restored?

Yes, a specialist can help you build the response Dwolla needs, with authorization records, return rate data and a clear fix for what caused the returns. We match each return code to its cause and document the correction. Start with a free assessment and know where you stand before you pay.

What does a Dwolla restriction service cost?

A Dwolla restriction service is priced by how hard the case is. One suspended customer takes less work than a paused balance with a high unauthorized return rate. We start with a free assessment of your return history and notices, then quote the work plainly before you commit.

Can anyone guarantee Dwolla will restore my access?

No one can guarantee Dwolla will restore your access or release your balance, because Dwolla and its partner banks make the final decision. Be careful with anyone who promises it. What we commit to is the work: a full review of your case, a documented response and a straight answer on your chances before you pay.
