Inventory Reconciliation That Claims Reimbursement for the Stock the Warehouse Lost.

What is inventory reconciliation for ecommerce sellers?

Inventory reconciliation for ecommerce sellers is matching what you sent to a fulfillment network against what it received, sold, returned, lost or damaged. Gaps show up when the warehouse count, the order data and your shipping records disagree. Each documented gap can become a reimbursement claim, as long as it is filed inside that network’s window.

Do fulfillment networks reimburse lost inventory?

Most fulfillment networks reimburse inventory they lose or damage, but usually only when the seller files a claim with proof inside the window. Amazon FBA, Walmart Fulfillment Services, Fulfilled by TikTok and Fulfilment by Lazada all have reimbursement rules. Some losses are paid automatically, and many are paid only when someone finds them and files.

How long do I have to file a lost inventory claim?

Lost inventory claim windows depend on the network. Amazon gives US sellers 60 days for most fulfillment center claims, Walmart allows WFS inbound investigations 10 to 50 days after delivery, TikTok requires FBT claims within 60 days after the order and Lazada’s Philippine FBL terms allow 90 days. Missed windows usually cannot be reopened.

How much do fulfillment networks pay for lost units?

Payouts for lost units vary by network. Amazon pays manufacturing or sourcing cost for FBA units lost before a customer order, Walmart pays estimated sale proceeds on WFS losses it is responsible for, TikTok pays FBT logistics losses up to the order amount and Lazada pays the Replacement Value under its FBL terms. Keep your cost data current.

What documents do I need for a lost inventory claim?

A lost inventory claim needs proof of what you sent and what the network recorded. That usually means your supplier or commercial invoice, packing lists, proof of delivery or signed bills of lading, the shipment ID and the network’s received count. TikTok and Walmart reject pro forma invoices. Never create or edit a document to fill a gap.

Why was my lost inventory claim rejected?

Lost inventory claims are usually rejected because they were filed after the window closed, the invoice did not meet the network’s rules, the claim duplicated one already paid or the loss traced back to the seller’s own prep, labeling or packing. Find the exact reason before you file again, since the same claim gets the same answer.

Can filing too many inventory claims hurt my account?

Filing too many unsupported or duplicate inventory claims can hurt a seller account. Amazon’s FBA reimbursement policy, for example, can lead to account action over improper claims, and Walmart accepts no appeals on WFS inbound investigations, so the first filing is the only one. File only documented, non-duplicate claims, once per gap.

Who pays for packages lost by the carrier?

Packages lost after the warehouse hands them to a carrier fall under the carrier’s terms, which usually limit payouts by weight unless value was declared. DHL Express, for example, requires written claims within 30 days and limits air shipments to 26 SDR per kilogram. Placing each lost unit at the right handover decides who you claim from.

Which fulfillment networks does inventory reconciliation cover?

Our inventory reconciliation covers Amazon FBA, Walmart Fulfillment Services, Fulfilled by TikTok, Fulfilment by Lazada, Shopee, Mercado Libre Full, Shipped by Newegg, DHL Fulfillment Network and other networks, each worked under its own terms and claim window. How much does an inventory reconciliation service cost?

The cost of an inventory reconciliation service depends on your volume, how many networks you use and how far back the claimable window reaches. One network with clean reports takes less work than several with mixed shipments. We start with a free assessment of your reports, then give you a price before any work begins.

Can anyone guarantee a lost inventory reimbursement?

No one can guarantee a lost inventory reimbursement, because each fulfillment network decides every claim and the amount. Be careful with anyone who promises one. What we commit to is the work: every gap traced in your reports, every documented claim filed inside the window, and a straight answer on what is worth claiming before you pay.
